Griswold Family Easter (DiLo Style)

Sunday, April 16, 2017

In what we will forever refer to as the Griswold Family Easter, we were able to have our first family holiday in our first home.

The DiLoretos (Mom, Dad, Brother, Grandma, and Dolly (dog)) rented a van and made the 8 hour trek to Chicago from Pittsburgh.

We hit the city and did the classics like touch The Bean, look at the river, and get some pizza from Paisanos.

The rest of the trip we hung out in the neighborhood, did a big family Easter dinner, and caught up on the deck.  Dolly had too much energy to be allowed to share space with Soler so we were constantly blocking off certain rooms so each beloved pet could enjoy the holiday.

One of the highlights of the trip was putting bunny ears on Grandma and sending her on an Easter Egg Hunt through the house.  This was to relive those hunts she use to plan for the kids when they were younger and it always led them to the baskets hiding in the dryer.  She was a good sport about it and in retrospect I may have made the clues too hard!

We will see how long it is until we can trick them into coming back for another group trip.
